Thank you for your interest in applying to the Long Island Game Farm. Before you complete the application, here’s some information of what to expect. It will help you to decide if you want to take the next step.
We have a short season, and attempt to hire and place people with the best-matched qualifications for the jobs we have available.
Our team is rather small, and we all sometimes do a little of everything. We require flexibility in our staff of employees and are looking for team players!
We have a snack bar, a gift shop, and a ticket booth. Some of our closer-to-the animal jobs include pony rides, helping out with the goats in the nursery, education & animal encounters and zoo keeper…. of course. We work in sometimes inclement weather (cold, rainy, hot), and we start at minimum wage unless you have experience. If your dream is to work close to animals it’s best to start with whatever job is open. Then as we get comfortable with you we may offer training in education or keeper skills. If this sounds good to you please read on…
