Pirates and Princesses Treasure Hunt 2015 October 11, 2015 » In honor of Christopher Columbus’ journey around the world and the zoo’s final weekend, the Long Island Game Farm proudly hosted its Pirates and Princesses Treasure Hunt. Hundreds children of all ages dawned their best ball gowns or swashbuckler attire to participate in the zoo’s search for princess and pirate garb. Back-to-School Blast 2015 August 29, 2015 » As a final summer hurrah, the Long Island Game Farm — Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo hosted its Back-to-School Blast. Admission prices were reduced to $5 for adults and children and hundreds of visitors flocked to the zoo to indulged in painting and back-to-school giveaways, including notebooks from Staples for the first 100 guests. Tanger Outlets in Riverhead also provided the chance to win a $100 shopping spree and coupon books for all attendees. 1970's Admission Price Day 2015 July 25, 2015 » Since its founding in 1970 by Stanley and Diane Novak, the 25-acre Long Island Game Farm has served as a place of education and family entertainment. Thousands of visitors turned out for 1970's Day, which celebrated the first year the Game Farm was open. Children made their own pet rocks and had their faces decorated by Game Farm staffers. Radio Disney Hasbro Day 2008 July 12, 2008 » Radio Disney AM1560 had an amazing time at the Long Island Game Farm and with our Radio Disney listeners. Everyone there was very excited to check out the new Hasbro Fur Real Friends. The children loved playing with the Fur Real Friends and were very eager to participate in games to win these lovely, furry, adorable toys. It was a fun experience for everyone at the event. Grand Opening and Earth Day Celebration 2008 Saturday, April 19, 2008 » This year's grand opening featured an Earth Day Celebration. There was plenty of activities for the kids to take part of during the event. The first 100 kids to enter the park received a Wild About Earth Day Educational Activity Book. There was "I Love the Earth" tattoos available for all. There were also "Earth Day Starts with Me!" wrist ribbons, "Care for the Earth" lollipops and Earth Day pencils provided. A "Plant Your Own seeds" table provided sunflower seeds with soil and cups; courtesy of thegardenspot.com. LIfun4kids.com was also featured during the event. What better way to celebrate Earth Day than learning about the environment and animals of the world.Earthworm Art: "Thank you again for having us at Earth day. It was a lot of fun, and we were so glad the kids liked the activity! The worms were very happy to be let go at the end of the day; we waited until nightfall in order to give them a fighting chance to burrow away from the birds!" -Lynne Nova Auletta and her mom Trish Auletta Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Day 2007 The Long Island Game Farm opened its doors to campers from Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck and helped raised funds by donating $1 per visitor to the park that day to the non-profit camp serving special needs children. Camp Zoo 2007 The Long Island Game Farm held its fourth year of Camp Zoo. The Game Farm invites youngsters to a week-long camp of close-up animal encounters. Kindergarten Kats Media Day 2007 May 24, 2007 » The Long Island Game Farm introduces Kindergarten Kats show to Long Island media. News 12 and other media were able to preview the new Kindergarten Kats show and also feed a lion cub. Introducing Hudson and Catskill Hudson, the cougar, and Catskill, the camel, were both obtained from the Catskill Game Farm when it closed after the end of 2006.
