Long Island Game Farm – Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo Celebrates Its 50th Season

[MANORVILLE, NEW YORK] –– Now entering its 50th season, the Long Island Game Farm -– Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo will officially open on Friday, April 19. During the opening weeks, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the rescued animals that now have safe homes at the Game Farm and the new baby animals, including chicks, bunnies, ducklings and kid goats. Visitors will be able to pet and hand-feed the animals once they are born. They will also be able to enjoy the amusement rides, including the carousel, spinning tea cups, and pony rides!

The Mobile Zoo is Back at the Long Island Game Farm

[MANORVILLE, NEW YORK] –– The Long Island Game Farm – Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo is closing for the season on Monday, October 29, but the fun doesn’t have to stop. The park will be offering a mobile petting zoo featuring Suzie, the Wallaby, Barney, the Prairie Dog, Gabriella, the Giant Flemish Rabbit, Speedy, the Sulcata Tortoise and more!

The Park Will Close for the 2018 Season on Monday, October 29

[MANORVILLE, NEW YORK] –– The Long Island Game Farm – Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo will be going into hibernation on Monday, October 29, but the animals aren’t going anywhere just yet. The park will be open every weekend in October, with a “Boo at the Zoo” Party for children every Sunday in the Discovery Center.

[MANORVILLE, NEW YORK] –– Now entering its 49th Season, the Long Island Game Farm -– Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo will officially open on Saturday, April 14. During the opening weeks, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the new baby animals, including chicks, bunnies, ducklings, calves and kid goats, and will be able to pet and hand feed the animals once they are born. They will also be able to enjoy the amusement rides, including the carousel and spinning tea cups, and pony rides. Lastly, guests will be able to meet the park’s new 10-month old baby wallaby.

(MANORVILLE, NEW YORK) — The Long Island Game Farm — Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo celebrated its final days of the 2016 season with its second annual Pirates and Princesses Treasure Hunt on Monday, October 10. Hundreds of children of all ages donned their best ball gowns and swashbuckling attire to participate in an expedition around the zoo. Long Island Game Farm (LIGF) owners and zookeepers said goodbye to Hudson, the park’s beloved cougar, on Sunday, January 30. At nearly 20 years of age, Hudson, considered one of stars of the zoo, died simply of old age and had lived well beyond the 13-year life span of a cougar. Just in time for the grand opening of its 46th season on April 8, the Long Island Game Farm showed visitors its newly acquired alpacas as part of its expanding animal exhibit. The Game Farm received the animals from the Ceruti family of Shoreham, who have been longtime friends of the Game Farm. The Cerutis donated their backyard pet alpaca herd, consisting of Rosie and her yearling Robbie; Sophie and her yearling Rusty; Gracie and her yearling Zoe; and one female named Melanie.
