The Long Island Game Farm — Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo officially opens for the season the weekend of Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17. Now in its 47th season, the park has long provided Long Island students and families with a wide array of animals, education, and ― most of all ― fun. As part of its opening celebrations, the zoo will once again have an array of baby animals in the nursery barn during its springtime hours.
The Game Farm will be open from Thursday to Sunday, April 21 to 24 and Wednesday to Sunday from April 27 to May 1. The park will be open on a limited schedule in early May and will ultimately be open seven days a week beginning Wednesday, May 25. For information regarding dates and hours of operation, please see the events calendar on the Game Farm’s website.
In addition to hand feeding and petting its animals, the Game Farm is excited to announce its new Ranger Eric Live Animal Show, which is being held at 1 p.m. on May 14 and May 21. David Rosaire’s Dog Show will also return to the zoo beginning Saturday, May 28.
“We are looking forward to the 2016 Summer Season,” says Melinda Novak, Vice President/Co-Owner, Long Island Game Farm — Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo. “In the meantime, we’re hard at work planning the special events we’ll host this year. We can’t wait to see everyone.”
