[MANORVILLE, NEW YORK] –– Now entering its 48th Season, the Long Island Game Farm -– Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo will officially open on Thursday, April 13. During the opening weeks, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the forthcoming baby animals, including chicks, ducklings and kid goats, and will be able to pet and hand feed the animals once they are born. (MANORVILLE, NEW YORK) — The Long Island Game Farm — Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo celebrated its final days of the 2016 season with its second annual Pirates and Princesses Treasure Hunt on Monday, October 10. Hundreds of children of all ages donned their best ball gowns and swashbuckling attire to participate in an expedition around the zoo. Hudson Far Exceeded the Life Expectancy of His Wild Brethern

Long Island Game Farm (LIGF) owners and zookeepers said goodbye to Hudson, the park’s beloved cougar, on Sunday, January 30. At nearly 20 years of age, Hudson, considered one of stars of the zoo, died simply of old age and had lived well beyond the 13-year life span of a cougar. Just in time for the grand opening of its 46th season on April 8, the Long Island Game Farm showed visitors its newly acquired alpacas as part of its expanding animal exhibit. The Game Farm received the animals from the Ceruti family of Shoreham, who have been longtime friends of the Game Farm. The Cerutis donated their backyard pet alpaca herd, consisting of Rosie and her yearling Robbie; Sophie and her yearling Rusty; Gracie and her yearling Zoe; and one female named Melanie.
