2008 Grand Opening and Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 19, 2008. This year's grand
opening featured an Earth Day Celebration.
There was plenty of activities for the
kids to take part of during the event. The
first 100 kids to enter the park received
a Wild About Earth Day Educational Activity
Book. There was "I Love the Earth" tattoos available for all. There were also "Earth Day Starts with Me!" wrist ribbons, "Care for the Earth" lollipops and Earth Day pencils provided. A "Plant Your Own seeds" table provided sunflower seeds with soil and cups; courtesy of
thegardenspot.com. LIfun4kids.com was
also featured during the event. What better
way to celebrate Earth Day than learning
about the environment and animals of the
world.
Earthworm Art: "Thank you again for having us at Earth day. It was a lot of fun, and we were
so glad the kids liked the activity! The
worms were very happy to be let go at the end of the day; we waited
until nightfall in order
to give them a fighting chance to burrow away
from the birds!" -Lynne Nova Auletta and her mom Trish Auletta
